Gavin is a master jeweller and diamond/gemstone setter with over 20 years of bench experience. He honed his skills in Hatton Garden, creating jewellery for many of the high street brands we know of today. He trained under the meticulous eyes of traditional goldsmiths and stone setters. These experiences brought him to the doors of Rolex watch companied in their case and bracelet department. In 2008, he could not deny his desire to travel and after a stint as a scuba diving instructor, Gavin returned to jewellery, serving as a master jeweller and diamond setter for an international brand in New Zealand. He returned to the UK in 2020. Unbeknownst to him, the pandemic will catapult him to launch his own jewellery brand. He opened a small studio in Tunbridge Wells dedicated for trade work only. But soon enough, retail customers found him and in 2024, he opened his flagship store. In the same year, he is the first jeweller in the UK to work with crystalline osmium, cementing his status as an innovative and highly skilled craftsman. Gavin’s flagship store, The Diamond Setter is located at the historic Pantiles in Royal Tunbridge Wells. Gavin supports the trade with stone setting, laser engraving and are now introducing Osmium to fellow makers around the country.
